Haul Reveal: Annabelle & Marcelle Warehouse Sale Spring 2013

Last Friday April 5th, I attended the Annabelle and Marcelle cosmetic warehouse sale here in Montreal.  I had never tried any of their products prior to the sale but have always heard people talking about them.  So, I figured this would be a great opportunity to get some items to try at a lower cost.

I did go a little cray cray! but most of the products I got were only $2.25/per item.  So I figured why not.

Here what I got:

I did find it a little hard to find products for suitable for darker skin tones but had a nice   sales person point out the these three products on the left that should work with darker skin tones.

Left to Right:
*Bronzante skintrue press powder bronzer- Matitude.
*Biggy Bronzing Powder-Caribbean Sun.
*Marcelle- Aquatik Dome Bronzing Powder- Summer Chic.

EyeLiners (Oh My!!)
Now here's where I got out of control.
I got eyeliner's in various shades.  12 in total, I think...

I know what your thinking, when the heck am I going to use all these..Well, I'm not sure either.  I will probably end up giving some away to friends and putting some in rotation hopefully...soon.

Annabelle- Kohl Smudge Liner- Gold
Annabelle- Kohl Smudge Liner- Silver
Marcelle 3 in 1 retractable liner-Carbon
Annabelle- smoothliner (Waterproof)-Black
Annabelle- Kohl eyeliner- Navy
Annabelle- Kohl Smudge Liner- Black Pearl
Annabelle- Hype Liquid Liner-Electric Blue
Annabelle- Eyeink Liquid Liner- Black
Annabelle- Liquid Liner- Black
Annabelle- Eyebrow pencil- Brown
Annabelle-SmudgePaint Liquid Liner-Black

Annabelle's Twist up lipsticks
I own a few of the ELF twist up and love them.  Hoping these are as moisturizing and matte as the Elf ones.

I got two, one in the shade Kiss (a coral, more on the red side)  and the other shade is tease (a brownish/ terracotta).

Annabelle's Mascaras (Annabelle Big Show and Expanable Mascaras).  I read some reviews but only after I returned from the sale, stating that both these mascara's are workable and promises of voluminousness lashes .

I wish I got more mascara's and a fewer eyeliners... but whatevs!....

People were grabbing like 4-5 of the volume + length expandable mascara at a time...I guess for 2.25 CAD compared to the regular price of 10.99 CAD this was an amazing deal.

The expandable mascara is known for it's duo twist wand feature. The shorter bristles used to length + definition and the longer wand to maximize volume.

Check out the picture on the right to see the different wand.

 Eye Shadows
                                                               Marcelle-Luminous Quad Shadow  Pyramids
An eyeshadow quad, Cleopatra's Gems. 4- great colors. Shades with highly reflective pearls that catch the light beautifully

Marcelle-Wet and Dry Eyeshadow Quad in Nude Attitude:
They are as the name states made to use both wet and dry. The eyeshadows are "treated with silicone to dissolve immediately when in contact with water.

Annabelle - Eyeshadow #218 (Sable):
I was looking for neutral brown matte eye shadow and found these baby's. so I picked up two of them.

other eyeshadows included the Annabelle -Duo Eyeshadow in the shade Tropical, and Marcelle-Wet and Dry Eyeshadow in Electric Dream

Annabelle Color Control Perfecting Base in the luminous finished

I'm so excited to try this out and see how it works with my skin tone. This was the most expensive item I picked up at the sale.  $10.00 CAD. so I'm hoping it works.

The luminous finished a multi tasking base that primer and leaves a subtle glow to the skin.

Makeup Brushes

I really didn't need any brushes but these were 2 for $1.00. It was impossible to walk past this deal... The handles are short, the perfect size to fit in a makeup bag.. So these will probably end up being my carry around brushes providing the quality is descent.
Lip brush
Eyebrow brush and comb
Shader brush
Angled eyeliner brush
Face foundation brush
Sharpener

Well that's it folks!.So glad I was able to attend the sale and can't wait until the next one.

I Hope you liked this haul.

If you went to the warehouse sale share what you got.

Till next time... Laters!

Model 21 False Eyelashes

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Last year I started playing around with false eyelashes and now I’m really into them. My lashes are small almost not visible to the naked eye (..a little exaggerated). Even though I do wear mascara to enhance my lashes, with falsies it just finishes off the look and takes my eye look to a different level.
At first when I started wearing lashes it was a struggle getting them on properly but with time and practice I seem to be getting better but by no means am I a professional. I haven't found my holy grail lashes as of yet and still experimenting with different brands.
Recently, I was sent a box of Model 21's False Eyelashes No.19 combo box (Retails for $12.95 USD) which has 10 pairs of eyelashes for my review; however I have not been compensated for the review. Opinions on this product are MY OWN and have not been influenced by any means.

If you haven't heard of Model 21 before, they are a company that many bloggers and You Tuber's have reviewed and liked and I've wanted to try their lashes for some time.
One of the good things about the combo box is that since I've never tried this brand before I get to sample 5 different pair of lashes styles 2T, 40T, 19T, 63,  and 3T. In this review/reveal, I applied the no. 2T’s for you to see.
My own lashes (yikes!!)

Model 21 - 2T applied

Model 21 - 2T applied - looking down

Model 21 - 2T applied- full view

What I liked
  • The lashes were easy to apply and remove
  • The longevity is amazing. I have used the same lash set 4 times now and can probably get another 1-2 more wears
  • Lasted all day (but I'm sure the glue also had something to do with this also).
  • Blended in with my own lashes easily
  • Felt light as a feather on the lash line (at times I had to touch lash line to see if they were still there).
  • The 2T's (Picture) are so great for everyday use.
  • Model 21 does provide international shipping. Yay!! and to Canada when you purchase 3 box of lashes the shipping is around $13..00. I would sign up to their face, twitter and email subscription and wait for a sale and save a little bit of money.

What I did not like:
  • No lash glue provided with the package (this pertaining especially to beginner who purchase lashes for first time)
  • International shipping (in specific to Canada) can be a little steep approx. 13.00 (ouch)
  • Took about 2 weeks to receive ( not so back since it's international shipping but I was just inpatient..
  • As for the lashes itself no dislikes so far with the 2T's

Final Opinion
If you are on a budget, but are looking for some good-quality lashes, I really think that you'll fall in love with these as much as I have. The longevity of these lashes are amazing! I can get at least 5-6 wears before getting rid of them. A few brands of  lashes I own usually last for 2-3 uses before they start to look raggedy.  They are super light-weight; almost as if there were nothing there!  The 2T are more on the natural looking side and great for everyday.I really do like the feel of these lashes and want to place an order for the following:

DIY - Makeup Brush Spot Cleaner

I’m sure you already know that it is important to keep your brushes clean. Makeup brushes harbor lots of dirt, skin oils and get contaminated with bacteria. You should be giving your brushes a deep clean at least every two weeks but I also like to clean my brushes after each time I use them just to remove excess makeup and dirt from them, especially if I've been using lots of different colours. This process of cleaning brushes in between a through deep cleaning is called “spot cleaning” and can be done after every use or every couple of days depending on your use of the brushes. I found an easy recipe from well-known makeup artist and you tuber whom I follow EnkoreMakeup and the good thing is that most of the ingredients can be found around the house.

What you need:

1 spray bottle (available at the dollar store)
1 bowl or glass
Measuring cup
Funnel (optional)
-------------------------------------------
1 cup of water Purified (or distilled)
¼ cup of 70 % alcohol (or use 90%, heard drying period is quicker)
½ Tbsp. of dish soap (I use dawn, if it’s good enough to clean oiled ducks, then it’s good enough for my brushes)
½ Tbsp. of shampoo (baby shampoo is best)
1 Tbsp. of leave in conditioner (this conditions the brush bristles)
Note: Leave in conditioner must be liquid and not gel or cream)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients together in bowl or glass. (water, alcohol, dish soap, shampoo and leave in conditioner)
  2. Stir slowly and gently until mixed well.
  3. Pour mixture into spray bottle

How to Spot Clean Brushes

  1. Spray cleaner on brush and then use a paper towel to wipe the brush using back and forth motions until the excess liquid is removed from the brush. Note: DO NOT swirl brush in circle motion, this will ruin the bristles of your brushes.
  2. This process can be repeated until desired cleanliness
  3. Hang to dry, ensuring to elevate brush so that the water can drip off the brush bristles and not into the feral. If water continuously get into the feral brushes will eventually shed and the feral can become loose from the barrel
